To create and sustain a robust global network, committed to the principles of nonviolence, human equality, human security, restorative justice, sustainable development, freedom from coercion, and accountable governance, that:
1. supports and promotes the active exploration and use of nonviolent methods of mass organizing for social justice and human freedom, on the basis that nonviolent means to effect positive social change always exist, and must be sought after and promoted,
2. seeks to expose and oppose all forms of violence whether undertaken by state or non‐state actors or individuals, and whether this violence takes the form of direct physical or verbal violence, or administrative, economic, or cultural violence, and
3. upholds the inherent value of all our fellow humans, including those of whose actions or beliefs we may strongly disapprove.
